This was a novella written in the epistolary style. This piece is the only time in which Jane Austen deals with the high society of London. It was published in 1871, long after she had passed away ("Biography").
Unfinished Fiction
The Watsons - Written between 1803 and 1805, it wasn't published until 1871 in James Edward Austen-Leigh's memoir on Jane Austen. The piece was left untitled, until Austen-Leight gave it its current title. It is unclear why Jane Austen did not go ahead and get this piece published ("Biography").
Sanditon - This fragment was written in the last year of Jane Austen's life. It was originally titled The Brothers, but after her death her family changed the title. The original manuscript only contained the first eleven chapters, however many have taken it upon themselves to complete it ("Biography").
Plan of a Novel, According to Hints from Various Quarters - Written in 1816, this piece includes advice given to writers by their friends and family. The original manuscript included quotes in the margins indicating who each piece of advice came from ("Biography").
